Wellness and Preventative Exams

Dr. Vilchez strongly believes prevention is the key to your pet's long-term health. If a health problem or issue can be detected in its early stages, there is a far greater likelihood it can be treated with less difficulty, less expense, and greater success.

Annual or semi-annual preventative care examinations at our animal hospital are your veterinarian's chance to assess your pet's overall health, discuss any changes with you, educate and update you on advancements in medical care, and for you to discuss any concerns or questions you have.

Diagnostic & Therapeutic Services

Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete healthcare needs. Cytology, parasitology, hematology, digital radiology, dental radiology, endoscopy, ultrasonography, electrocardiography and telemedicine services (among others) are available for the assessment of your pets' health status. A complete pharmacy and state-of-the-art surgical suite are available for the treatment of most medical conditions. We may be small, but we're powerful!

Radiology

Our state-of-the-art digital X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. Remote consultations with board-certified veterinary radiologists are routinely employed.

Laser Therapy

Lasers therapy promotes increased circulation, reduced inflammation, pain reduction and enhanced tissue healing. Laser therapy is a valuable pain management tool, particularly for older dogs with arthritis. Therapy lasers emit a pleasant warming sensation and most patients seem to relax and enjoy their sessions. Typically, multiple sessions are most effective, so Heritage Oaks offers special packages to achieve the best results.

Hospitalization Services.

When pets are injured or take ill, their conditions often require in-hospital treatments such as fluid therapy, nutritional support and injectable medication. For common injuries and illnesses, Heritage Oaks's dedicated hospital crew insures they receive the most caring veterinary attention around. Should more intensive care be required, after-hours veterinary facilities are always available nearby.

Euthanasia and Final Arrangements

Our compassionate staff will help you through the difficult process of euthanasia each step of the way. From the time you make the decision, to the appointment itself, to how to handle the aftercare. And when the time finally comes, we'll take care of all the details, including cremation, burial, paw print mementos or any other arrangements you desire.

Specialist Referrals

At Heritage Oaks Veterinary Hospital we believe strongly in the collaborative approach to veterinary medicine. As such, we work closely with specialists at several area facilities and around the country to help you access the highest level of care you require on behalf of your pet. Whether it's highly specialized orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology or oncology (among other specialties), we recommend hand-picked board-certified veterinary specialists to meet your individual needs.
